RAIA: Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club outplayed Carmona Sports Club 5-0 to enter into the quarter-finals of Navelim Villagers Union Trophy organised by Navelim Villagers Union at Rosary Church ground, Navelim.
The match started on a slow pace and both teams took time to settle but Carmona SC Neil Cardozo’s power-packed shoot missed the target in the 15th minute. Rossman Cruz Nagoa SC created a move through Roydon Rego, who gave a pass to Ajay Satardekar, the latter shoot from the edge of the box which crashed into the nets beating the defence and goalkeeper in the 22nd minute. At the half time, Rossman Cruz Nagoa SC were leading 1-0.
Changing over, Imam Sab of Rossman Cruz Nagoa SC gave a through pass to Savio Fernandes, who made no mistake to score in the 37th minute. With two goals down, Carmona SC fought back and created many chances but failed to score. Rossman Cruz Nagoa SC inflated the lead in the 40th minute, Roydon Rego placed the ball over the goalkeeper to score.
As match progressed, in the last quarter, Savio netted two goals in the 45th and 60th minute to complete his hat-trick.
