In a heartwarming display of compassion, Sanguem Councillor Meshu D’Costa rushed to the aid of an injured cow that had met with an accident on the Sanguem–Sanvordem road.
Upon spotting the injured animal, D’Costa immediately coordinated efforts to ensure it received timely medical attention. He expressed gratitude to local residents and the Dhyan Foundation, Zambaulim, for their swift assistance in helping treat the injured cow.
Commending the community’s prompt response, D’Costa said such acts of kindness reflect the values of empathy and responsibility that every citizen should uphold.
He also issued an appeal to motorists to exercise caution, especially during night-time travel, and to show compassion towards animals involved in road accidents.
“Every life matters, and a little care on the road can prevent unnecessary suffering,” D’Costa said, urging the public to report such incidents and assist in rescue efforts whenever possible.
The councillor’s actions have drawn appreciation from locals, highlighting the importance of civic empathy and active community involvement in safeguarding both human and animal life.
