Poor-Quality Road Repairs in Curchorem Spark Outrage; Potholes Filled with Soil Instead of Tar

Residents have raised serious concerns over the substandard road repair work currently underway in the Curchorem Municipal area, where potholes are allegedly being filled with soil instead of proper road materials like tar or concrete.

The shoddy work has not only caused inconvenience but also poses a serious risk to motorists and pedestrians. Locals report that when it rains, the soil turns into mud, making the roads slippery and unsafe, thereby increasing the likelihood of accidents.

The contractor responsible for the repairs has reportedly claimed that the current stage is only the initial phase of the project. However, residents have criticised the unsafe and careless methods used, calling it a clear case of poor planning and negligence.

Citizens have demanded that the Curchorem Municipal Council and PWD officials immediately inspect the site and take strict action against the contractor responsible for the substandard work.

Locals insist that proper materials and safety standards must be used to ensure durable road repairs and prevent further damage or mishaps during the upcoming monsoon season.
