Questions raised over misplaced border check post shed in Canacona

A shed complete with a staff cabin and equipped with the latest smart cameras, originally meant for the border check post in Pollem, Canacona, has been found erected five kilometres away from its intended location.

Residents are questioning the purpose of the new shed, as it stands in a residential area with no staff manning the booth. Calling it a misguided move by the authorities, local councillor Shubham Komarpant criticised the installation and demanded clarity on its function.

Komarpant further pointed out that two speed breakers, one of which does not conform to standard regulatory height, are causing health issues such as back pain for pillion riders and drivers.

He warned that if authorities fail to take corrective measures, a formal complaint will be filed with the relevant departments.
