Fresh FIR Ordered in Ponda Job Scam After Minister Dhavalikar Flags Lapses in Probe: CM Sawant

A day after PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar alleged that the police had failed to conduct a proper investigation into a job scam case in Ponda involving a local teacher, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that a fresh FIR has been ordered in the matter.

Dhavalikar had raised concerns that the earlier probe was incomplete and failed to hold those responsible accountable. Responding to the allegation, CM Sawant clarified that the police had already conducted a detailed investigation earlier, but assured that the case would be re-examined based on new inputs provided by the minister.

“Sudin has informed me again about the case. I have ordered a fresh FIR. If any names have been mentioned, they will also be investigated,” Sawant said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

The alleged scam reportedly involved irregularities in recruitment processes and manipulation in exchange for money. The Chief Minister stated that the Crime Branch will take over the investigation to ensure an impartial inquiry.

Officials added that those found guilty, regardless of position or affiliation, would face strict legal action once the renewed investigation is completed.
