Now on its third day, the investigation is being spearheaded by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is examining the possibility of an international terror link. As part of the inquiry, three doctors from Al-Falah University in Faridabad—where Dr Umar was employed—have been detained for questioning.

Officials are also tracing the chain of ownership of the vehicle used in the attack and reconstructing its movements in the lead-up to the explosion, as they piece together the broader network involved in the incident.
