Danish Kaneria Hails Gautam Adani’s Efforts to Safeguard India’s Cultural Heritage

Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria has lauded industrialist Gautam Adani for his commitment to preserving India’s cultural heritage. In a post on X, Kaneria praised the Adani Group chairman for pledging ₹100 crore towards safeguarding culture and knowledge systems.

“As a Pakistani Hindu, it pains me that while hundreds of Pakistan’s ancient temples were neglected for decades, @gautam_adani commits Rs 100 crore to preserve culture and knowledge. This is the kind of respect every civilisation’s heritage deserves,” he wrote.

Kaneria’s remarks came after Adani announced the funding at the Global Indology Conclave to help establish the Bharat Knowledge Graph and support scholars working in the field. During the event, Adani highlighted the significance of Indology, calling it a disciplined study of fields such as philosophy, art, medicine, mathematics and governance. “We do not look back to live in history, we look forward so that the best of history lives through us,” he said.

This is not the first time Kaneria has praised the industrialist. Earlier, he had commended Adani for contributing to Sanatan Dharma during the Maha Kumbh, where the tycoon participated in rituals and distributed ‘Mahaprasad’. Kaneria had then said that forces across the world were targeting Adani because of his dedication to Sanatan Dharma, adding that he was proud to have him as part of their community.
