Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor, after ending his one-day silent fast at the Bhitiharwa Gandhi Ashram in West Champaran on Friday, announced that he will donate 90% of his income for the next five years along with all his movable and immovable assets—except his Delhi house—to his party for Bihar’s reform.
Appealing to people to contribute according to their capacity, he urged every supporter to donate at least ₹1,000 to the Jan Suraaj movement. At a press conference, Kishor said he is committed to strengthening a people-driven campaign inspired by Mahatma Gandhi.

He reiterated that merely changing governments does not change the system; societal transformation is essential.
Kishor also announced that starting January 15, he will visit all 118,000 wards in Bihar under the Bihar Navnirman Sankalp Abhiyan to connect directly with citizens, present the reality of government promises, and push for their implementation.
He said Jan Suraaj has grown significantly over the past two and a half years, but caste divisions, money power, and religious polarisation continue to influence Bihar’s politics. Real change, he stressed, is possible only when society becomes aware of its rights and responsibilities.
Calling Nitish Kumar personally honest, Kishor questioned the “definition of honesty” and warned that schemes like providing ₹10,000 to poor women could threaten democratic principles. “If this becomes the norm, democracy will collapse. No one will ever lose an election,” he said, adding that any government can borrow money and distribute it.
