Complaints of harassment and abusive behaviour by private bus drivers operating on the Cavelossim route were submitted at the Colva Police Station, prompting Cavelossim Sarpanch Dixon Vaz to seek immediate intervention from both the police and the Margao Regional Transport Office (RTO).
Speaking to reporters outside the police station, Vaz said one of the complaints described how a woman travelling with her elderly mother, neighbour and a disabled child was allegedly abused and forced off a Mecliz-owned bus on November 28. The passenger stated she had only asked whether there was space for their luggage when the driver became aggressive, used abusive language and made them get down in the middle of the road, far from any bus stop. The group later had to walk back to the nearest stand, leaving the child distressed and the elderly passengers struggling.

Vaz said such behaviour has been repeatedly flagged by commuters, who have raised concerns about intimidation, refusal to halt at designated stops and rude conduct by a few operators. He warned that villagers would consider an agitation if authorities failed to address the issue.
Police said they have received the complaint and will look into the matter. Vaz added that the Margao RTO would also be informed of the allegations.
