The final season of the show that Gen Z grew up watching has released Volume 1 and announced that Volumes 2 and 3 will arrive on Christmas and New Year, sending excitement among long-time fans to an all-time high. The critically acclaimed science-fiction horror drama, which premiered in 2016, is closing its journey over a decade later with a three-volume finale.
Fan reactions to Volume 1 have raised expectations for the upcoming instalments. Rajeshwari K Nair, a research associate at BITS BioCyTiH Foundation, shared, “My overall rating for ‘Stranger Things’ is 10 on 10. The first volume is an absolute banger. The pacing is excellent, building momentum from the reintroduction in Episode 1 to the explosive Episode 4. Every main character gets meaningful development, especially Will, who is finally getting his moment to shine.”

She praised the show’s balance of nostalgia and fresh storytelling, its emotional depth, and movie-quality visual effects. Her favourite episode was Episode 4, highlighting Will’s transformation from victim to hero. Rajeshwari said Robin’s earlier conversation empowered Will to embrace his strengths, making his confrontation with the Demogorgons a triumphant moment. She also praised Noah Schnapp’s performance and the visual effects showing Will’s eyes glowing with Upside Down energy.
Shane Frank Remedios, a student from Cumbharjua, also chose Episode 4 as his favourite, citing the return of Vecna and the multiple cliffhangers involving Eleven and Will. He rated the first three episodes 8–8.5 and Episode 4 a 9.
Another fan, Geetika De Sa, an MBBS student at GMC, said Volume 1 delivered strong moments such as Karen fighting the demodogs, Will’s iconic scene and Vecna’s cameo. Aside from Eleven’s costume, she had no complaints. She expressed excitement for Will realising his full potential, Kali’s unfolding arc, and the developing bond between Robin and Will, predicting a tragic end.
Shane added that he is eager to see how the new developments unfold and hopes the Duffer Brothers will finally reveal the mysteries of the Upside Down and Vecna’s true plan.
