Students of Diogo Vaz Higher Secondary School, Colvale, were sensitised on dating violence and child protection laws during an awareness programme organised by the Thivim Legal Aid Cell. The session aimed to educate students about healthy relationships, legal safeguards available to children, and the consequences of violence and abuse.
Former District and Sessions Judge Sayonara Teller Laud addressed the students as the guest speaker and highlighted the importance of understanding consent, personal boundaries, and legal rights at a young age. Faculty in-charge Dr Shruti Kamat Dalal coordinated the programme. The event was held in collaboration with the school and witnessed active participation from students and teachers. Organisers said such initiatives are crucial in promoting awareness, prevention, and responsible behaviour among youth.
