No Occupancy for Large Housing Projects Without Medical Facilities: Vishwajeet Rane

Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane on Tuesday announced that residential complexes with 100 flats or more will not be granted occupancy certificates unless adequate medical facilities are provided. He said developers must ensure the availability of basic medical infrastructure and appoint trained paramedics to handle emergency situations within such housing projects.

Speaking after inaugurating a wellness centre at Sada, Rane said amendments to the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act and Health Acts have already been implemented to enforce the new rule. He stressed that the move is aimed at strengthening emergency response systems and safeguarding residents, especially senior citizens and children. Rane added that the government would strictly monitor compliance and warned builders against ignoring the safety and health needs of residents in large residential complexes.
