Justice Abhay Oka Supports Rebello’s Campaign, Says Saving Goa’s Environment Is a Constitutional Obligation

Former Supreme Court judge Justice Abhay S. Oka has voiced strong support for the movement spearheaded by former Bombay High Court Chief Justice Ferdino Rebello, asserting that the protection of Goa’s environment is a constitutional obligation.

Justice Oka cautioned that development which comes at the cost of ecological destruction cannot be considered genuine progress. He underlined that the Constitution places a clear responsibility on both the State and citizens to safeguard the environment and preserve natural resources.
