A 32-year-old pedestrian, identified as Mahavir Ram, died after being run over by a four-wheeler near the Mathany Saldanha Bridge at Velsao.
Police said the incident occurred when the car allegedly hit the pedestrian in a rash and negligent manner. Mahavir Ram sustained severe injuries and succumbed to them.

The driver of the four-wheeler has been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for rash and negligent driving. Further investigation into the case is underway.
