Russian woman claims husband staged death and left her stranded in India

A Russian woman’s emotional account of love, marriage, and alleged betrayal in India has gone viral, drawing widespread reactions on social media. Olga, who moved to India in 2015 to pursue her PhD at Jawaharlal Nehru University, shared her story on Humans of Bombay. She revealed that a relationship that began in 2014 and led to marriage in 2019 eventually collapsed, leaving her stranded and struggling.

In her post, Olga alleged that her husband disappeared in January 2024 after failing to attend a spousal visa interview in November 2023. Fearing the worst, she filed a missing-person report and spent six months in distress. With limited funds and no family support in India, she said she faced severe emotional and financial hardship, while visa complications prevented her from returning to Russia.

The situation took a dramatic turn when Olga claimed she discovered through Instagram that her husband was alive and living as a sadhu in Varanasi. Despite his later apology and promises, she alleged the relationship deteriorated again after she found he was living with another woman.

Olga further claimed her husband attempted to sabotage her job by portraying her as mentally unstable. She is now seeking legal assistance to resolve her visa issues and return home.
