The Goa government has decided to present the State Budget on Friday, which is traditionally observed as Private Members’ Day in the Assembly.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) that Friday is considered an auspicious muhurat for presenting the budget. The announcement was made during the BAC meeting held to finalise the Assembly schedule.

Reacting after the meeting, Vijai Sardesai expressed concern over the limited time allocated for deliberations. He pointed out that only two days have been earmarked for discussion on the budget.
Sardesai further noted that during the discussion on demands for grants, as many as 32 portfolios held by the Chief Minister will be taken up in a single day, raising questions about the adequacy of time for detailed scrutiny.
The development has sparked debate over the scheduling and depth of legislative discussions surrounding the State’s financial roadmap.
