Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar laid the foundation stone for the construction of a retaining wall near the Gomateshwar Temple, a project to be executed through the Water Resources Department Goa.
The retaining wall will be built in Sasmollem and is aimed at strengthening the area and preventing potential soil erosion, particularly during the monsoon season.

Speaking on the occasion, Salkar said the project was a long-pending demand of local residents and had become the need of the hour. He assured that the work would be completed before the onset of the monsoon to ensure the safety and stability of the surrounding area.
Local residents welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that the project would address longstanding concerns and provide better protection for the temple vicinity and nearby infrastructure.
