Goa Forward Party MLA Vijai Sardesai on Thursday said that a total of 2,193 suggestions and issues have been received from the public ahead of the upcoming combined Budget and Monsoon Session of the Goa Legislative Assembly.
Sardesai stated that legislators have submitted a range of matters to be taken up during the session, including 42 starred questions and 210 unstarred questions. In addition, 14 Zero Hour submissions and 14 Calling Attention motions have been moved for discussion in the House.
He further said that members have also introduced four Private Member Bills and three resolutions for consideration during the session.
Commenting on the political climate in the state, Sardesai remarked that the ongoing protests across Goa could make it difficult for the government to defend its position during the Assembly proceedings.
The upcoming session is expected to witness intense debates as several public issues and policy matters are likely to be raised by the opposition and other legislators.
