The Goa government has informed the Legislative Assembly that 51 beaches across the state are currently covered under the beach cleaning contract. The information was shared by Rohan Khaunte while replying to a question raised by MLA Sankalp Amonkar.
According to the minister, the state spent 8.87 crore in 2023–24 and 6.98 crore in 2024–25 on beach cleaning activities. So far in the current financial year 2025–26, an amount of 9.17 crore has already been spent.

The government has also awarded a new beach cleaning contract to Ecostan Infra Pvt Ltd. The contract is valued at 89.94 crore, including GST.
Officials said strict monitoring systems are in place to ensure cleanliness across the beaches. Penalties are imposed whenever any non-compliance is detected.
Authorities added that beach cleaning operations are closely tracked through daily inspections as well as digital monitoring using the Beach Cleaning and Monitoring App.
