Quepem Police Station has registered an FIR in connection with a narcotics case following a late-night operation in Xeldem.
According to police, the case was registered based on a complaint filed by PSI Digamber Bondre. The incident occurred between 2:39 am and 4:11 am on March 24, 2026.
The accused, identified as Zakir Pirzade, a resident of Amona, was allegedly found in illegal possession of 297 grams of a greenish leafy substance with flowering and fruiting tops, suspected to be ganja. The contraband is estimated to be worth around ₹30,000.
Police also seized cash amounting to ₹20,000, a mobile phone, and a Fascino scooter, with the total value of seized items estimated at approximately ₹1.5 lakh.
An offence has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Digamber Bondre.
