In a midnight swoop, Goa Cyber Crime Police raided a rented bungalow in Corlim, Mapusa, between 11:30 PM March 27 to 4 AM March 28, busting an illegal call centre. Seven interstate fraudsters were nabbed for posing as “Payday” loan agents, duping US citizens into buying gift cards (Sephora, Macy’s, Apple, Xbox) for fake loans.
Arrested: Laxmandra Kaushik (Thane), Sourabh Ghodke (Raigarh), Pravesh Sawant & Rajas Bhagat (Mumbai), Nisarg Thakkar & Harsh Barut (Gujarat), Avinash Verma (UP). Items seized include laptops, mobiles worth ₹21 lakh.
