Funds for Shows, Not for the Dead?’: Savio Coutinho Slams Margao Civic Body Over Unclaimed Corpses

Margao Congress Block Convener Savio Coutinho has strongly criticised the Margao Municipal Council for citing a shortage of funds to dispose of unclaimed bodies, while allegedly spending large sums on entertainment events.

Coutinho termed the situation as insensitive and unacceptable, pointing out that several unclaimed bodies have been lying in the morgue for over three months. He questioned the priorities of the civic body, stating that basic humanitarian responsibilities should take precedence over non-essential expenditures.
