The proposed Mirabag–Sanvordem Bandhara project has been officially cancelled, with protesters receiving a formal order from the Government of Goa confirming the decision following a 49-day-long sit-in agitation.
Villagers and activists who had been opposing the project welcomed the move, expressing relief and satisfaction over the outcome. The protest, which lasted for over a month, saw strong participation from the local community demanding the scrapping of the project.
Protesters also extended their gratitude to Pramod Sawant and various community supporters who stood in solidarity with them throughout the agitation.
The cancellation marks a significant victory for the local residents, highlighting the impact of sustained grassroots movements in influencing government decisions.
