Residents of Palaskatta have stepped up their protest against the Parsekar Foods factory, demanding urgent intervention from authorities over what they describe as unbearable living conditions caused by persistent foul odour from the unit.

Villagers allege that the strong smell emanating from the factory has severely disrupted daily life, impacting their health, appetite, and overall well-being. Many families have raised concerns about children being particularly affected by the polluted environment.

The agitation gained momentum on Sunday night when former Sanvordem MLA Deepak Pawaskar visited the protest site and met with the villagers. He assured the aggrieved residents that their grievances would be taken seriously and conveyed to the relevant authorities.

Several social activists have also joined the protest, lending support to the villagers’ demand for either strict regulatory action or the shutdown of the factory.

Despite repeated complaints, residents claim that no concrete action has been taken so far, prompting them to intensify their agitation. The situation continues to escalate as locals seek immediate relief from what they describe as worsening environmental and health conditions.
