A shocking case has emerged from outer Delhi, where the body of a 35-year-old woman bearing strangulation marks was discovered stuffed inside a double bed storage box at a paying guest (PG) accommodation in Mangolpuri, police said on Wednesday.
Authorities have arrested three individuals in connection with the crime. The accused have been identified as Surendra alias Bobby, Joginder, and Deepak (22), all residents of Mangolpuri.
According to police officials, a PCR call was received at the Mangolpuri police station on April 7, reporting a woman found under suspicious circumstances inside a room in a building located in the Patthar Market area. Responding promptly, police teams reached the spot and recovered the body concealed inside the storage compartment of a bed.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a paying guest facility was being operated on the third floor of the building by a 31-year-old man identified as Amarjeet.
Police suspect foul play, citing visible strangulation marks on the victim’s body. The exact motive behind the crime remains under investigation, while further questioning of the accused is underway to establish the sequence of events leading to the incident.
The case has sent shockwaves through the locality, raising concerns over safety and regulation of PG accommodations in the area.
