Goa Labour Society Demands Regularisation of Contract Workers, Sets May 1 Deadline

A labour society representing workers from various government departments, including the Public Works Department, has called for the regularisation of employees who have been serving on contract for nearly two decades in Goa.

Following a recent meeting, the group urged the government to resolve the long-pending issue within the next five months. Members expressed concern over the prolonged uncertainty faced by workers despite years of service.

The society has also set May 1 as a deadline for a concrete decision, warning that it will move the High Court of Bombay at Goa if their demands are not addressed. Representatives stated that they are prepared to pursue legal action to secure job stability and benefits for affected employees.
