Speaking to reporters, Godinho expressed happiness over the strong participation of women and said that in the upcoming Assembly elections, women could emerge in significant numbers as legislators. He indicated that around 14 to 16 seats may be reserved and assured that concerns among sitting MLAs would be addressed through seat rotation and a possible increase in constituencies.

Salkar praised the enthusiasm among women participants and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the passage of the legislation, calling it a historic step.

Amonkar noted that in Goa’s 40-member Legislative Assembly, reserving nearly 16 seats for women would mark a major move toward greater political empowerment.
