A disturbing incident in Bengaluru has led to the arrest of a 27-year-old woman accused of murdering her boyfriend in a calculated and shocking manner. According to police, the accused, Prerna, allegedly lured her partner Kiran, also 27, to her home in Anjanapura under the pretext of spending time together.
Investigators revealed that the two were colleagues at a telecom store and had been in a relationship for over a year. However, tensions had recently surfaced, with Prerna reportedly upset over what she perceived as Kiran’s lack of attention and unwillingness to commit to marriage.
On the day of the incident, Prerna invited Kiran home while no one else was present. After a brief conversation, she allegedly convinced him to participate in what she described as a “unique proposal idea.” She blindfolded him and tied him to a chair, claiming it was part of a romantic surprise. Despite his hesitation, she reassured him and continued.
Police say that once Kiran was restrained, Prerna brought out a flammable liquid she had arranged in advance, poured it over him, and set him on fire. The act was reportedly recorded on her phone.
Deputy Commissioner of Police DL Nagesh confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody and confessed during questioning. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the motive and circumstances surrounding the crime.
