The former champions, who had earlier beaten Canada 4-1, continued their dominant run and now sit at the top of Group A.

The tie began with Lakshya Sen setting the tone for India, as he defeated Ephraim Stephen Sam 21-14, 21-16 with controlled aggression and sharp net play. Rising star Ayush Shetty extended the lead to 2-0, dismantling Shrey Dhand 21-8, 21-6 in just 26 minutes, showcasing India’s depth in the singles category.

The doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty then ensured the tie was effectively sealed. They overcame Rizky Hidayat and Jack Yu 21-14, 21-16 with their trademark attacking style and powerful smashes. With India already assured of victory, HS Prannoy added another point by defeating Rishi Honda Boopathy 21-11, 21-17 after replacing Kidambi Srikanth in the lineup.

The final match saw Hariharan Amsakarunan and MR Arjun complete the clean sweep, beating Andika Ramadiansyah and Sam 21-12, 21-10 to make it 5-0 for India.

With this win, India strengthened their position at the top of Group A, closely followed by defending champions China, who also registered strong wins against Australia and Canada. India will now face China in their final group-stage clash on Wednesday, which will decide the group topper. Both teams have already secured qualification for the knockout stage, but the encounter will determine momentum heading into the quarterfinals.
