Goa Police Receive Complaint Against Obscene Social Media Content

A group of citizens in Goa has formally filed a complaint at the Vasco Police Station against a Facebook user, alleging the publication of an obscene video that insults Lord Parshuram and the Hindu community. The complainants contend that the video is inflammatory and explicitly designed to incite communal tensions, particularly given the backdrop of recent controversies within the state.

Citing legal provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology (IT) Act, the group has accused the individual of promoting enmity and causing deliberate outrage against religious sentiments. In their petition to law enforcement, they have requested the immediate registration of a First Information Report (FIR), a thorough investigation to trace the original source of the content, and urgent measures to ensure the video is removed from social media platforms.
