Born in Mehsana, Gujarat, Urvil Patel rose to prominence during the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The right-handed batter scored 315 runs in six innings at a strike rate close to 230 and smashed a stunning 28-ball century against Tripura — the joint-second-fastest hundred in T20 cricket history.

He also finished the domestic T20 tournament with the highest number of sixes, hammering 29 maximums. Urvil later impressed in the Ranji Trophy as well, scoring a career-best 140 against Saurashtra in the quarter-finals.

Interestingly, Urvil was part of Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023 but did not get an opportunity to make his debut. He eventually entered the IPL through Chennai Super Kings after replacing injured batter Vansh Bedi and has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting uncapped talents in the tournament.
