Before the match, SRH had an 80 per cent chance of making the playoffs, but the heavy defeat saw their probability drop sharply to 65.7 per cent. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru saw their chances dip slightly from 80.1 to 79.7 per cent, while fourth-placed Punjab Kings improved marginally from 62.5 to 62.7 per cent. Chennai Super Kings also witnessed a slight rise in qualification probability from 42.7 to 42.8 per cent.

In the match, Gujarat Titans produced a dominant all-round performance to climb to the top of the IPL points table. After posting 168 for seven in challenging batting conditions, the Titans bowlers dismantled the SRH batting line-up to secure their fifth straight victory.

Sai Sudharsan anchored the innings with a patient 61 off 44 balls, hitting five boundaries and two sixes, while Washington Sundar contributed a fluent 50 from 33 deliveries, including seven fours and a six. Their crucial 60-run partnership for the fourth wicket helped Gujarat recover on a difficult two-paced surface.

For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Praful Hinge emerged as the standout bowler with figures of 2 for 17, while skipper Pat Cummins returned economical figures of 1 for 20 from his four overs.

Chasing 169, SRH suffered a dramatic collapse as Kagiso Rabada ripped through the top order with an outstanding spell of 3 for 28. Mohammed Siraj also made an early impact, claiming a wicket-maiden in the opening over, while Jason Holder further dented the batting unit with figures of 3 for 20.

SRH slumped to 60 for seven during the chase and were eventually bowled out for just 86 in 14.5 overs. Heinrich Klaasen scored 14, while skipper Pat Cummins top-scored with 19 in an otherwise disappointing batting display.

Rabada’s disciplined pace bowling proved too much for the SRH batters, with the South African pacer consistently troubling them with sharp movement and accurate line and length. Prasidh Krishna also chipped in with two wickets as Gujarat Titans completed a comprehensive victory.
