The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) Goa has intensified its crackdown on foreign nationals overstaying in the state, deporting nine individuals so far in May and initiating blacklisting procedures against them. Officials confirmed that the deported individuals included five Ugandan nationals, three Russians and one Nigerian citizen.
In a fresh operation carried out at Mandrem on Thursday, authorities detected seven more foreign overstayers, including five Russians, one Ukrainian and one South African national. Legal proceedings against them are currently underway.

Officials stated that since January 2026, around 27 overstayers have voluntarily left India. In comparison, nearly 120 foreign nationals were deported in 2025, including 29 Bangladeshi nationals.
The latest operation was led by Police Inspector Devendra and monitored by senior officers including SP and DySP Braz Menzes under the supervision of SP Arshi Aadil, IPS. FRRO Goa has also urged hotels, guest houses and landlords to promptly file C-Forms for foreign guests to help authorities track immigration compliance and prevent visa violations across the state.
