The newly constructed Multipurpose Sports Complex at Verem-Vaghurme in Priol, Ponda, will be inaugurated today, marking another step towards strengthening grassroots sports infrastructure in Goa.
The modern multi-floor facility has been developed with the aim of promoting sports, fitness, and healthy lifestyles, particularly in rural areas of the state.
The sports complex includes dedicated arenas for badminton and table tennis, a fully equipped gymnasium, and a yoga centre. Special spaces have also been created for various other indoor sporting activities.
Officials said the facility is expected to encourage greater participation in sports among youth and provide local athletes with improved training infrastructure closer to their communities.
The inauguration reflects the state’s continued focus on developing modern sports facilities and creating opportunities for a healthier, stronger, and more empowered Goa.
