Cortalim MLA Anton Vas on Friday inaugurated road development works worth Rs 47 lakh at Sai Vihar in Velsao and stressed the importance of obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to improve internal road connectivity in villages.
Speaking at the inauguration, Vas said that residents and stakeholders should cooperate in providing NOCs to facilitate road construction and infrastructure development in residential areas.
Social worker Roquezinho D’Souza said that the objective of the government’s Mhaje Ghar scheme gets defeated if houses are not connected by proper roads and basic infrastructure.
D’Souza appealed to landlords to grant NOCs for road projects so that residents can benefit from better accessibility and development. He further demanded that the government acquire land in cases where landlords refuse to provide NOCs for the construction of internal village roads.
The issue of road connectivity has remained a major concern in several parts of Goa, particularly in newly developed residential pockets where infrastructure access remains limited despite housing development schemes.
