Vehicles allegedly operating commercially with white number plates handed over to Traffic Police by Rent-a-Cab Association members.
Two Mahindra Thar vehicles allegedly being used for commercial transport with white number plates were intercepted by members of the All Goa Rent-a-Cab Association and subsequently handed over to the Traffic Police for further action.

According to association members, the vehicles were suspected of operating as tourist taxis despite being registered with private (white) number plates, prompting the interception. The matter was later brought to the attention of the Traffic Police, who took custody of both vehicles for investigation.
During the incident, one of the drivers allegedly struck a woman while attempting to leave the spot. However, no injuries were reported as a result of the alleged collision.
Police officials have confirmed that both vehicles have been detained and that a probe is underway to determine whether any violations of transport regulations were committed. Authorities are also expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident involving the woman.
The issue of private vehicles allegedly being used for commercial passenger transport has been a longstanding concern among Goa’s taxi operators, who have repeatedly called for stricter enforcement against unauthorized transport services operating in the state.
