The family of Siya Goyal has defended her character while expressing shock over her arrest in connection with the alleged murder of her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal. Her parents insist they were unaware of any relationship between Siya and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary and say she repeatedly confirmed her wish to marry Ketan.Speaking to the media, Siya’s mother said the family sought her daughter’s approval numerous times before fixing the marriage. According to her, Siya consistently stated that she liked Ketan and wanted to proceed with the wedding. The family therefore saw no reason to question the relationship.
Her father explained that the marriage proposal first surfaced through relatives at a family gathering before eventually being accepted. He said both families approved the match, which led to an engagement ceremony in February.The parents described Ketan as a respected young man who had developed a close bond with their household. They said there were no visible signs of discord and that wedding arrangements continued smoothly in the months leading up to the incident.The family also claimed the Lohagad Fort trek, where Ketan lost his life, was originally planned at his suggestion. According to them, Siya had initially been reluctant to participate.While standing by his daughter emotionally, Praveen Goyal said the law should take its course. He added that if Siya is ultimately found guilty, she should receive the punishment deemed appropriate by the court. Police continue to investigate the case, which has drawn widespread public attention.
