Mumbai-based model Rhiya Ahir, who emerged as a prominent face of the nationwide NEET paper leak protests after standing in front of a police van carrying detained demonstrators, has filed a complaint with the cyber police alleging online abuse, threats and harassment.
In her complaint lodged at the MIDC Police Station, Ahir alleged that she has been subjected to continuous threats on social media since the incident. She also claimed to have received obscene and sexually explicit comments on her online posts.

According to the complaint, Ahir has become the target of a coordinated online hate campaign involving defamation, intimidation, misogynistic abuse, targeted harassment and the circulation of deepfake videos.
Seeking legal action, she submitted screenshots, URLs and other digital evidence of the alleged defamatory and abusive content to the police.
Based on the complaint, the cyber police have launched an investigation and are working to identify those responsible for the online harassment.
Ahir gained widespread attention on July 22 after she blocked a police van near Shivaji Park in Mumbai’s Dadar area. The vehicle was transporting protesters who had been detained while demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during nationwide demonstrations over the alleged NEET paper leak.
