The revised toll charges on the NH-66 link road connecting to Manohar International Airport, Mopa, have drawn criticism from local taxi operators, farmers and residents.
The new rates came into effect from August 10, with cars and other light motor vehicles charged ₹45 for a single trip, compared with the earlier ₹19.70. A 24-hour return journey now costs ₹70, while eligible local residents can avail themselves of a monthly pass for ₹360. North Goa-registered taxis have been given a separate rate of ₹25 per trip.

Speaking on the issue, a local representative said taxi drivers and residents had expressed dissatisfaction over the revised charges. He also raised concerns about employment opportunities for people affected by the development of Mopa Airport.
He said farmers whose land was acquired for the airport and local businesses should receive greater attention, adding that the government must address their concerns.
