Parra Petrol Pump Dispute Over UPI Payment Turns Violent, Employee Injured

A dispute over a UPI payment at a petrol pump in Parra allegedly escalated into a physical altercation on Monday morning, leaving one employee with an eye injury.

According to petrol pump staff, the incident occurred around 7.25 am after two bikers completed refuelling their motorcycles. One of the men allegedly obstructed a woman employee from operating the fuel dispenser. When she asked the bikers to move their motorcycles ahead and complete the payment, an argument reportedly broke out.

Another employee intervened in an attempt to resolve the dispute, but the situation allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation.

The petrol pump staff alleged that the two men used abusive language and made obscene gestures before allegedly assaulting employees with punches and kicks. The woman employee was also allegedly attacked during the altercation.

Following the incident, one of the injured employees was taken to Government Asilo Hospital in Mapusa for medical examination, where an eye injury was reported.

A case has been registered at the Mapusa Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
