A dispute over a UPI payment at a petrol pump in Parra allegedly escalated into a physical altercation on Monday morning, leaving one staff member with an eye injury.
According to petrol pump staff, the incident took place around 7.25 am after two bikers completed refuelling. One of the men allegedly blocked a woman employee from operating the dispenser and later argued with her when she asked them to move their bikes forward and complete the payment.
The situation reportedly worsened after another employee intervened. Staff alleged that the two men used abusive language and obscene gestures before physically attacking employees with punches and kicks, including the woman staffer.
A case has been registered at Mapusa Police Station. The injured employee was taken to Government Asilo Hospital for medical examination, where an eye injury was reported following the alleged assault.
