Melauli, Dhada villagers demand to restore water pipeline

Threaten to block Valpoi-Ponda road

SATTARI: Shel Melauli, Murmune, Maigine and Dhada villagers marched protest at the Valpoi Deputy Collector Office and the Valpoi Water Supply Department and submitted a memorandum regarding the water shortage problem in their villages. The cut down of main water pipeline caused the problem since Paikul village bridge collapse as the pipeline was connected through the bridge. They threatened that government doesn’t fix it immediately they will block the highway from Valpoi to Ponda.

According to Panch member, Arjun Melekar the Valpoi water supply department is supplying the water to Shel Melauli, Murmune, Maigine and Dhada villages through the water tanker. “But the water tanker water is not sufficient for us. They are supplying very less water to these four villages. Also they are not coming on time. The villagers have to wait for hours before the tankers arrive. So we demanded to rebuild the bridge immediately and install the new water pipeline fast,” said Melekar

“The milk farmers cannot supply their cow milk to the milk society because of absence of the bridge. And our cow milk is getting wasted daily,” said a villager Ajit Desai.
