PANJIM: Bharatiya Janata Party has come down heavily on AICC Secretary Girish Chodankar over his remarks on representation to the Bahujan Samaj in government jobs.
BJP State Vice President Anil Hoble, addressing the media said Chodankar has been making wild allegations against the government on the issue of representation to Bahujan Samaj in Government jobs and Corporations.
He said that Chodankar needs to be reminded that BJP in 2014 increased reservations for OBC from 19.5 percent to 27 percent. “The increase in this reservation of OBC quota to 27 percent has provided opportunities to OBC not only in government jobs but also in professional education and large number of OBC students have benefited,” he said.
He added, “On the political front too, the BJP has consistently given a large number of party tickets to young karyakartas from the OBC community. Many of them got elected to the Assembly and also became Ministers and Speaker, Dy Speaker. Shripad Naik has been elected to Parliament for the fourth time in succession and has been a Minister in each and every BJP government at the Centre.”
