The entire cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs 30.09 crore and it will be equally shared by the IPSCDL and the GSUDA. The IPSCDL will finance Rs 18.05 crore under Smart City Mission for Panjim as a convergence project while the balance 50 per cent share of the project i.e. Rs 12.03 crore will be borne by the GSUDA through its Integrated Development of Major Towns (IDMT) funds.

The tender for the construction of football ground and other works was invited in November this year and three contractors had submitted their bids. After opening of financial bids on December 2, M/s Bagkiya Constructions Private Limited was found to be the lowest bidder. But since the lowest tender was 13.58 per cent above the amount out to tender the matter was referred to the Goa State Works Board (GSWB) for its prior approval.

The football ground will have seven pavilion blocks with 1500 seating capacity. The other scope of work includes a children’s playground, outdoor gym, park for senior citizens, a multipurpose lawn and Smart parking for cars and two-wheelers.
