PANJIM, FEB 6 (HR) -- Thirty-six foreigners were arrested in Goa last year for overstaying. While most of the foreigners arrested for overstaying were from European countries.

PANJIM, FEB 6 (HR) — Thirty-six foreigners were arrested in Goa last year for overstaying. While most of the foreigners arrested for overstaying were from European countries.
Home Minister Ravi Naik informed the House in his reply to a question tabled by Siolim MLA Dayanand Narvekar in Goa Assembly last week.
Nigerians topped the list for overstaying with 13 persons being arrested last year. As many as nine Russians were booked for staying without valid visa, he said.
Besides, Germans, Italians, Portuguese, Saudi Arabians and Ukrainians were also arrested for overstaying and most of them were deported after completing due procedure.
