PANJIM: The new integrated terminal building at the Goa’s Dabolim international airport will have a ‘soft opening’ by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh in the presence of Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo, the chief guest, while chief minister Manohar Parrikar will preside over the function.
Union Minister for State for Civil Aviation K C Venugopal, MP Francisco Sardinha and AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh will be present along with Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho and MMC chairperson Sumita Usgaonkar.
A central team including secretary Srivastava, Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s Arun Mishra, OSCA’s BB Das, Rohit Nandan and chairman of AAI VP Agarwal will also be in attendance. The inauguration is slated for 1 pm.
After the initial trial launch, the airport is expected to be fully functional by January 26, 2014. The new facility has a capacity which is six times more than the current terminal.
