Porvorim Police arrested six persons and detained six girls after raiding a massage parlour in Porvorim.
Police Inspector Rajendra Prabhudesai said they had received a number of complaints from residents of Porvorim regarding immoral activities at the massage parlour located near the Petrol Pump at Porvorim. Incidentally, police had been alerted of the massage parlour while investigating a recent abduction case.
Acting on the complaints, police raided the premises on Friday afternoon found six girls and two tourists in the massage centre.
Police later arrested the massage parlour owner, Abhishek Misra (24 yrs) and his staff, Laximan Balu Gaude (30), Shiva Singh (21) and Gaurav Singh (21). Two tourists, Dinesh Reddy and Rohit Reddy from Andhra Pradesh were also arrested.
Police took into custody six girls, of which two are from Goa and four are from Manipur. They have been sent to the Remand Home at Merces.A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 345 and 7 of Immoral Traffic and Prevention Act 1956.
