PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Chief Spokesperson of Media Sunil Kawthankar on Sunday said that document issued by BJP is not a manifesto but a Connifesto to con Goans.
Addressing the media, Sunil Kawthankar said, “The manifesto is completely silent on key promises BJP made in 2012 election such as Casino, MoI, recovering Rs 35,000 crore mining loot, and showcases their vast U-turn on Regional Plan 2021 which they promised to scrap and are now speaking of completing it.”
“Their complete silence on the Casinos be it gaming commission be it stopping it or moving it out of Mandovi or limiting the number of casinos and this proves that BJP is owned and run by casino lobby in Goa and we won’t be surprised if the change their party name from BJP to casino janata party in the future” said Kawthankar
He further said that BJP’s 2012 Manifesto is 70% incomplete with Rr 300 crore welfare fund for STs, 2500 vacancies for STs to be filled, dedicated Mining corridors in Quepem and Sanguem talukas, tourism Master plan, industrial policy, Abolition of house taxes, housing for all, Fast track solution for tenancy matters, 24/7 water, uninterrupted power supply, garbage free Goa 12, 50,000 jobs, and with Rs. 4500 unemployment allowance being kept unfulfilled.
Kawthankar further added: “This Connifesto is completely silent on corruption which means this government is not at all serious on corruption that triumphed in last five years Their Connifesto doesn’t speak a word as to how the Jobs will be created and moreover not a word on how the Goan youths will be ensured Jobs in the upcoming investments”
Meanwhile, Sunil said that the infrastructure BJP is boasting about in the new Connifesto is of sub standard and poor quality moreover they couldn’t complete necessary infrastructure such as Chorao Bridge which was need of hour and instead the Government facilitated the bridge at Keri to help the golf course, also the Miramar-Dona Paula road is a glaring example of the quality of infrastructure they are boasting of.
