TUEM: Sinquerim Sports Club, Mayem, got the better of Augustias Sporting Club 2-0 to move into the final of FC Tuem Champions Trophy inter-village football tournament, organised by FC Tuem in association with CAM group of companies, at Tuem DSYA ground, on Friday.

Both the teams started at a very fast pace. In the 14th minute, Augustias’ Anford Fernandes’s powerful shot saved by Sinquerim keeper Chaitan Sakhalkar.
In the next minute, Sinquerim’s Sahil Parwar’s shot from half way line was saved by Augustias goal keeper.
Yet again in the 26th minute, Chaitan Pirankar’s pass was well connected by Sahil Parwar whose shot towards the goal was missed by a whisker.
The teams went into the breather with no goals on board. Post resumption in the 41st minute, Mitesh Hoble’s brilliant headed into a goal gave Sinquerim a lead.
In the 47th minute, Raju Abbigeri’s free kick crashed into Agustias’ net. Thus taking the 2-0 lead. In the 52nd minute, Sinquerim’s Prabhakar Maulinkar missed an open chance in front of the goal.
In the last ten minutes, Augustias tried their level best but failed to score. With this win, Sinquerim will now face Pilerne SC in the final, which will be played on October 24.
