VASCO: Local MLA Carlos Almeida said he along with his supporters will visit Mangor on Monday and support the residents in demanding freedom from the containment zone.
The Vasco MLA has blamed the district administration for poor management of the containment zone and for inefficient decision making with regards to controlling COVID cases.

Almeida said despite his repeated demands to free Mangor hill from the containment zone, people are still stuck inside for over two months.
“I have taken up this issue with the Chief Minister and South Goa district administration, but till date the situation has remained the same,” he said.
“On Monday, I along with others will come to Mangor to stand in support of the people from the Mangor containment zone area and will demand immediate freeing of Mangor area from the containment zone”, he said.
“The district administration has failed in maintaining the containment zone atop Mangor hill and people there have suffered a lot for last two months. If the district administration had agreed to lock down entire Vasco then there virus would not have spread,” Almeida said.
